A sit down with… Trevor Graydon

Chris Bryan is playing the role of Mr Trevor Graydon, Millie’s crush and object of desire. We caught up with Chris to see how the show was going and how he’s find his BMTG journey so far…

What’s your role in the show?

I play Trevor Graydon, the boss at the Sincere Trust Insurance Company. I’m also Millie’s crush but quite oblivious to the fact!

What makes you Thoroughly Modern?

Me personally? I’m not sure I am that modern, I’m a viking reenactor after all! I am a dad though, so at some point I’m going to have to learn to be modern to keep up with my son!

Tell me about your journey with BMTG so far.

I joined BMTG in 2014 for their concert, Jukebox, and haven’t looked back since! I’ve been in every show with them since then, taking on a few principle roles such as Moonface Martin in ‘Anything Goes’, and then went on to play my first leading role in ‘The Wedding Singer’ as Robbie Hart. I just love performing with the group and intend to keep doing so for a long time yet!

What do you love about the group?

This is an easy question to answer, it’s the people. From the moment I first joined BMTG everyone was just so incredibly welcoming, and now they are like a second family to me. BMTG are an incredibly supportive and friendly group, and I often describe us as a ‘dog group’ because we are always excited to meet new people!

What’s your favourite musical?

This changes on a regular basis, but at the moment I would have to say Shrek. Great comedy mixed with some really belting songs, I can’t get enough of it!

What’s your dream role to play?

It’s a hypothetical one, but if they ever do a stage version of The Greatest Showman, I would love to play P.T. Barnham, some great songs there and just tons of character to play with!

How are rehearsals going?

Really well, it’s been especially great in the last couple of weeks as we have been fully running the show from start to finish, and seeing all the individual scenes and songs we have learned all start to weave together and flow is just amazing. It really becomes a show at that point and I can’t wait to see what audiences make of it!
