Lisa Mills (previously Cokayne) joined BMTG to be Musical Director for Kismet.
She has been involved with musical theatre for 15 years and is a music teacher during the day.
The various companies she has worked with include Gateway Theatre Company, Derby Opera Company, Rolls Royce Operatic Society and Present Theatre Company.
Not just directing, Lisa has had principal roles including Dolly in Hello Dolly, Katy Brown in Calamity Jane, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, Josepha in The White Horse Inn, Julie Jordan in Carousel and Eliza Doolittle in a professional production of My Fair Lady at Buxton Opera House. She was also nominated for Derby Playhouse's best actress role in the Eagle Awards for her portrayal of Ophelia in Hamlet with Derby Shakespeare Theatre Company.
Lisa is Musical Director of Cantata and has also been Musical Director for Derby Community Theatre at Derby Playhouse. She has also performed on-stage at the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Concert Hall and Royal Scottish Academy of Music as a solo clarinettist. She also plays flute, piano and saxophone.
Somehow she managed to find time in 2004 to marry fellow member Paul Mills. Lisa is not related to Cheryl Mills or Steve Mills.
